For anyone who isn't aware, GIMP has reached version 2.0. The new version uses only two windows instead of four, uses the most recent version of GTK so that it will be themed to what GTK is, and is just wicked awesome and has tons and tons of improvements. I figured I would spread the word because it now beats the hell out of Photoshop and is just wicked awesome. When I started using it to create something simple for a test, I was seriously impressed as you might be able to tell.
Not only did the GIMP hit 2.0, but even the site was revamped. So go check it out at gimp.org, what are you wating for?
*Note for fellow Gentoo users* To emerge it, just emerge sync to make sure you have the most up-to-date portage tree and cd to cd /usr/portage/media-gfx/gimp and type:
Code:
emerge gimp-2.0.0.ebuild
