I'm running Salix (both 32 and 64-bit versions), with Xfce.
Attempting to use Gigolo to connect to various shares is hitting a problem. If I attempt to store passwords using gnome-keyring (which is automatically called by Gigolo for password retention), I can only connect to a single share. If, after successfully connecting to the first share, I attempt to connect to another share, I end up with this error:
Code:
Connecting to "smb://brillcomp;admin@pandora/utils/" failed.
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)
In this instance, its a Samba share, but in others, it has been ssh connects as well, so I do not think that Samba is the issue.
I've also found that if, instead of selecting to have the share password remembered indefinitely, I select to remember it until I log off, I get exactly the same error - as soon as I attempt to connect to a second share, it fails with the same timeout error. If I tell Gigolo to forget the password immediately, I can connect to multiple shares without problems.
There are other distributions that use similar systems - Zenwalk has an almost identical Gigolo system. However, in Zenwalk, there are no problems with stored passwords, and once the keyring has been opened, multiple shares can be connected without problems.
I've tried building different versions of gvfs, but if I build the most recent version, it fails instantly with the dbus timeout error. I've also tried different versions of Gigolo and different builds of the gnome keyring without fixing the problems.
Can anyone suggest what might cause this, or what I might look at for my next attempt to fix it?
Paul.
