Ghost - arrrghh!

I've wasted all my weekend getting this crappy norton ghost to work. Basically I have a FC2 machine with a /boot, swap and a / partition.

/boot 100 Meg
Swap 512 Meg
/ 10 GB (Used 4GB)
/extra Rest of the space (Used : almost none)

Total : 150 GB

I've made a drive mapping boot floppy and it boots fine and recognizes my samba share from where I load up the ghost.exe. /boot and swap clone fine with fast compression. When I choose to clone / , it is excruciatingly slow and right now it is reporting that it will take 48 hours to complete with fast compression???? What is it doing?

Anyone tried it?

Does Ghost work on Linux now? What Version are you using? I have tried it with Corporate Edition 7.5 and did not have much like trying to re-apply the image back to my computer after having issues with it. I normally choose High Compression. In a Micro$oft world it takes about 40 minutes - 1 hour to ghost about 8 Gig over a network to another workstation.

But ghost is one of the best products to restore workstations back to their previous state. But like I said I have had alot of luck with Windows but none under Linux:\

Thanks,

BiG

Ghost 2003 does. Outside on the Box it says Windows but it has a section on linux (Appendix E). It does not support grub but lilo. Ext2/Ext3 is supported. But it is so annoyingly slow.

I'll post again on how much it has done when I get back home.
