getting webcam to record sound and video

I use Debian Lenny. I also use a Dell Inspiron 1521. It comes with a 'Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam for I1521'. I use linux-uvc for my web cam. If you pass mencoder the right info it will record your web cam. If you try out mencoder without the '-nosound' option you don't get sound or picture, just a message that says that your TV source has no tuner. Camorama and vlc only seem to work with v4l, not v4l2. How do I record video from my webcam and also the sound along with it??

mencoder tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video0 -nosound

I've tried out luvcview, which works nicely and has an option for recording an avi file, but it records no sound.

luvcview -f jpg

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
