That card is definitely supported by the kernel. Try doing '/sbin/ifconfig' and tell us what it displays. Did you list your nameservers in '/etc/resolve.conf'?

when I do /sbin/ifconfig

Link rncap: Loval Loopback
inet addr 271.0.0.1 mask 255.0.0.0
up loopback running MTU16436 Metric: 1
RX packets 8291 errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets:8291 errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0
collison 0 txqeulen 0
RX bytes 580239(566.6kb) TX bytes 580239 (566.6kb)

I cant even get the newtowrk config window to say active on the device.

ALSO this resolve.conf file wont open says nautilus has no instailled viewer capaable of display "etc/resolv.conf"

Ok,

I think redhat 9.0 also supports 'netconfig'. Run 'netconfig' and put in all your parameters there or just select DHCP (which is probably better). Then do '/sbin/ifconfig' once again to make sure that you are grabbing an IP address from the router. Display the contents again once you do that.

Is what I got, I couldnt do DHCP because my device never became active.

I put a static IP to my router I tryed typing netconfig in my terminal window but it didnt work.

OK,

Try doing 'whereis netconfig'. Once you know the full path, type that in the terminal. The reason why it probably didn't work is because you didn't specify the path in your environment. Can you display the contents of your /etc/modules. I want to see if the module is actually loaded.

Since you specified an static ip address that looks valid, have you tried pinging other devices on the network? Try pinging your local windows machine or your router. What are the results? 100% loss?
