Hello all!

I recently installed Fedora Core 3. (Kernel 2.6.9-1.667) The machine has an ATI Radeon 9600 in it. I went download the proprietary drivers from ATI, (the graphics support now are horrible) and I ran the check.sh program to find out what version of XFree86 I have. On my friend's Suse box this worked just fine but I am getting this error messgae...

or maybe you simply dont have the console ownership.
Unable to determine XFree86 Version. Stopping now.


I am running this from the console (I tried both as root and standard user) and I cannot figure this one out!! Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are able to login at your X windows, try to run the command from there.
