Getting qmail going

I am trying to get qmail working for me. I am following the guide at http://www.qmailrocks.org . I am having some trouble. Here's what I'm getting:

'! svscan /service' doesn't seem to be running
! Something is listening on port 110 (not tcpserver/qmail-pop3d)
...try: disabling other POP server

Any ideas? I'm running Slackware -current with the 2.6.5 kernel. I'm totally lost at this point.

u may try qmailrocks mailing list to get help more. i have installed qmail from qmailrocks too. i have redhat 8.0 and 9.0 with qmail.

run qmr install check script. i think it will say u where the problem is located.
/downloads/qmailrocks/scripts/qmr_inst_check

for me on FC1 http://www.qmailrocks.org works like a dream

I doubt you did miss something somewhere in the tutorial.
I suggest to installed if from begining again coz it will only takes 2 hourse to reinstall it.

however do deletes all the qmail installation manually that is delete all the directories
