Getting free modem drivers

Hello.

I have a CNet PCI Internal 56Kbps v.92 Fax Modem I ran a utility to get more details about my modem and here are the results.

Vendor Name: Conexant
Device Name: HSF CHURCHILL DATA/FAX
Modem Type: HSF

Here is my question are there free drivers linux available for this modem I know it's a software modem. I've been to www.linuxant.com but I can't afford to pay the $15 for the full version. I have also searched the web but no luck. I am using suse 9.2.

Thank you.

Unhappy

Nope they just redirect me to Linuxant unless I'm missing something. This really bugs me. I wish I had the money cause I think what they are doing is great but there has to be somebody who has drivers for free (as in free beer). Oh well will have to keep looking I guess.

I know that several people had installed a winmodem using the SmartLink software. Actually i'm using the smartlink software because i have a smartlink modem, but i've read that it's working for some winmodems, you can find it at www.smlink.com/content.aspx?id=53

You won't lost anything trying it.

Good luck

I've been really busy so haven't had time to tinker with my pc but here is an update. I emailed CNet and got a very quick reply which I was very impressed with the guy from CNet emailed me some drivers for the modem and I managed to install them (yay me) with very little problems but now I have a problem dialing up. I will first try to fix the problem myself and if I'm really stuck I will let you guys know. Just one questions is it possible that you can't dial into a service provider with a linux box if that provider is using certain proprietary software?
