Get detailed information on block device

Hey guys so on my dell power edge server i have a 100mb /dev/sr0 block device i need to get more information on as its having i/o errors and seems to be effecting the server from booting initramfs at times.

Ive already checked the drives so i know its not that....

is there a way to pull specific device information with lsblk from /dev/sr0

and if so what is a few commands i can use to get more information on this device.

What do you get with lsblk -S /dev/sr0?

Also, install the package scsitools and run
Code:
scsiinfo -i /dev/sr0

What is /dev/sr0 ?
For me on linux that is the optical (DVD/BluRay) drive, but your description makes me wonder.

As computersavvy said, sr is the SCSI CDROM/DVD/BluRay driver. /dev/sr0 is almost certainly an optical drive, or possibly a USB device emulating one.

What makes you think this device is the source of your boot issues?

Turned out to be a idrac virtual media drive i had to disable in idrac options on a dell poweredge R720.
