Gentoo, irexec and the default runlevel.

I'm trying to run the irexec daemon at startup but I get a message saying irexec failed to start.

I've also tried adding it to /etc/conf.d/start.local with no luck.

Once I get into KDE I can run it from Konsole. Is there any way I can get it to start automatically once KDE has finished loading?

Thanks.

I don't know what "irexec" is.

If it's a daemon/service, you should be looking at the error messages and the logs under /var/log/ (probably) to see what's going bad.

In any case, you can launch programs when starting kde by putting a symlink to them (or a custom script/program) under ~/.kde/Autostart/
