Gentoo dual boot, fdisk partitioning.
Hi i wont to have a dual boot of gentoo and winslows xp but i dont have any other partition tools then fdisk, i cant figure out fdisk i wont to create a /boot /swap and / my current partition table looks lyk this.
NTFS 40 gb /dev/hdc1
NTFS 20 gb /dev/hdc5
20gb free space
Dont ask me why my secound partition for winslows is /dev/hdc5 my mate set it up when i didnt have any computer knowlege.
This is what i wont my partition table to look lyk.
NTFS 40 gb /dev/hdc1
NTFS 20 gb /dev/hdc5
/boot 64mb /dev/hdc6
/swap 512mb /dev/hdc7
/ *gb /dev/hdc8
Ive got to use fdisk, unless there is a open source bootable partition tool.
Thank You.

ever since slackware I have been using cfdisk, it is very simple to use. It is probably on almost every live linux disk.

Fdisk is a breeze if you just read the gentoo handbook. All you need to know for partitoning is outlined in it.

Please read the gentoo handbook and if necessary follow it accordingly. It details all your inquiries.

!!!!!
Dude, I have even used an XP install disk to partition, when a buddy had my Knoppix disk at his place and I was in a hurry.
Partition it any way you like (personally I'd give myself more room) and then start with the smallest partition, format it FAT 32 with a DOS boot disk, then set up your install to format the swap file, then use EXT3 on the other two.
Have fun!
