gentoo coreutils stage3 extraction

Hi,

Last night i was up and i was doing an "emerge -uavND world", as i hadn't done so for a few weeks. I noticed the blocking of coreutils by mktemp and vice versa. Unfortunatly i messed up, i removed mktemp, and now i can't use commands like:"chmod,ls,rm" This disables me from recompiling just about anything, even emerge mktemp or emerge -u coreutils will fail on me.

Now i was wondering if, since that coreutils is now replacing mktemp, there is another way of getting coreutils back? Like, perhaps there are things in the stage3 that i can get out of it, which will atleast enable me to start emerging everything again?

What i've tried now is burning the minimal install cd for gentoo 2007.0 and chroot into my install. But as i thought, the problems remained. emerging with the install cd didn't work.

Can i extract coreutils out of stage3 or atleast some of the functions i am missing?

Thanks in advance,

puntjuh.

I did the same thing, but i messed up by removing the coreutils package ... i'll try to list all files in the coreutils package, then i will boot using gentoo live cd and manualy copy those files to my mounted linux partition.
I hope it works, but any other ideia is welcomed.

Rodrigo.
