Get the specs for your monitor and manually edit the monitor section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Hi,

could you please more specific?
What are the specs of your monitor? How does xorg.conf look which does not work? which entries are shown in Xorg.0.log?

If you wish to receive help, you should provide all possibly important information to us. If not, it we are not able to help anything. We do not have any kind of crystal ball which tells us what you did on your machine.

Try the command line...

The command "nvidia-xconfig" might be what you need. If need be, you can generate a new configuration file. See the Nvidia README for details. Note "man nvidia-xconfig".

http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...DME/index.html

You should have the choice of installing the Nvidia driver either from your distribution's repositories or from Nvidia. You can try them both.

Have a look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. It will usually give you a hint as to what is going on.
