gedit view line endings -- Possible?

I just went for 20 pages in Google and I could not find an answer.

I found several references to "Convert line endings," "Remove line endings," and the like.

But nothing at all for simply viewing them as a display option in the application itself.

To be fair, two pages of Google hits w/re Kate displaying line endings by some means also came up with "not much worth mentioning," to phrase the thing gently.

If this isn't possible in GNOME Text Editor, I hope someone can recommend another plain-text editor with comparable features to gedit that does have this option.

Hoping for both a prompt and well-thought-out reply.

BZT

I saw that one while I was searching, but I probably didn't read it as thoroughly as I did not ten minutes ago.

I just installed the set of GNOME Editor plug-ins, which included Draw Spaces, and configured it so it only showed line endings, carriage returns and the like. (One other element displayed by that plug-in that I may find myself using from time to time is "Draw tabs.") Thanks for bringing my attention back to that Ubuntu Forums thread.

Cheers.
