Hi, running Fedora 16/Gnome 3 and Gedit 3.2.6. I added the advanced find and replace plugin to Gedit.
For reasons best known to myself, I decided to remove and reinstall the plugin. But, there seem to be no definite instructions on how to remove a plugin. I removed advancedfind from my .local/share/gedit/plugins folder. That should do the trick. I reinstalled and now the plugin is present (in edit->preferences->plugins) but cannot be accessed via CTRL-SHIFT-F
I had a look at the install script and I noticed that files were copied to /usr/lib/gedit/plugins. So I removed these also and reinstalled. Still no good though. I an activate/deactivate the plugin but can not invoke it. The advanced find is not referenced in the search toolbar at the top of gedit either. So I have broken something.
Suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.
Sorry about that link.
I tried to copy the whole page for you and it didn't work.
You might be able to re-configure the file that is associated with your text editor.
Sorry, I'm not good with that.
Other members are better at this than I am.
Yes thanks Ztcoracat. I was using Notepad++ on windows but now Kate covers all my requirements. And if I just want to dive into a file quickly my itchy fingers tend to default to "vi"
