gdm, gulp and gedit without gnome??

Hey all, just aquired an acer altos500 (P3-650 256 RAM) to replace my crashing Abit BP6 2x533 as a samba/vsftpd box. Being an advocate of slackware i though i would try vector linux, i installed with no gui then got the latest xorg/fluxbox/rox/python so i could run nicotine (soulseek client EXCELLENT - try museek also).

My question to you all is: what is the minimum amount of gnome(2) packages that i need to get gulp/gedit/gdm working to keep the fat off?? and how do you go about installing - i.e depenencies, librarys etc

Just for the info software raid on a sil680 with 2xmaxtors120g give about 65mb/s using hdparm, however my 3ware-7006-2 on gives 48mb/s. Wasted my money! lol

Absolutely no Gnome is necessary for gedit and gdm (I don't know gulp). Only gtk must be there.

Great - no problems - gulp is the user manager - it not essential it just i get lazy when adding users. Wonder if there is an alternative to the gnome/kde user managers with a gui?

Cheers Yeti (like those mini ITX box's)
