gdm and multiple WMs/DEs

I have FVWM and Gnome installed in my system, and gdm is the session manager.
My problem is, gdm invokes my .xsession file only if I chose the "default session" in gdm menu, but I'd like to execute .xsession before any FVWM sessions and gnome sessions, is there a solution?

Thanks in advance!

I believe so, have you tried calling the .xsession from .xinitrc This file will be instantiated when you start X in your case gdm.
Within .xinitrc you can have "exec fvwm" line to start fvwm always or other programs that you want to run at startup.

Thanks dtcs, but I was told .xinitrc will be ignored by any session manager, only the xinit program invokes it.
anyway, I will give it a try, thanks.
