I don't have Mandrake or aol, but judging by the error messages I would say that you need to set the MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME environment variable to point to your current install of mozilla/netscape.

To set it immediately, type:
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1

To set it and forget it, put the following line in /etc/profile with the quotes:

export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME="/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1"

it got rid of the "Warning: MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME not set. " ,but it didn't stop the program from crashing or from this error message

Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkfont.c: line 470 (gdk_char_width): assertion `font != NULL' failed.

from stopping
