gdesklets stuck in upper left corner

Hi, I've posted this on a couple of other forums, and had no luck, so I'm giving it a shot.

I'm using Fedora Core 4, Gnome 2.12. I installed gDesklets, and got the FTB package for it. However, the desklets will not move away from the top left corner of the screen. Middle clicking on it does not help. The cursor changes to a move cursor, but there is no effect on the desklet. I read somewhere on an Ubuntu forum that it's a problem with Metacity, but it was only one post, and most people seem to be having no problems with it, so it should be possible, right?

any suggestions?

Thanks
