gDesklets, Fluxbox and the transparency

Hi !

I got some weird problem here. I installed fluxbox 0.9.9, iDesk and gDesklets. When it's a defaut background (like a solid one or a gradient) there is no problem with the transparency, but when i put a background (using "qiv") the transparency is still done through the solid default background as shown in this screenshot : http://pub.foolstep.com/sc.png

And i'm frustrated because i see lots of screenshots that shows gDesklets, fluxbox and a good background running well..!

Some ideas ??

Thanks.

Do you have Eterm installed? If so try setting the background using Esetroot.

Esetroot [-display <display_name>] [-bgcolor <color>] [-scale] [-center] [-fit] [-mirror] pixmap
Short options are also recognized (-d, -b, -s, -c, -f, and -m)
It draws the background on your root window and supports transparency.

root window image

if you're using flux try using fbsetbg -f /path/to/your/wallpaper.png
its fluxbox native, sorted out my aterm transparency problems a treat.

I discuss of this problem with friends and it seems that it's since the last fluxbox or gdesklets update.

Wait and see...

i think i've understand the problem.
The thing is that idesk and gdesklets gets the root window when they are called and do a transparence on this screenshot. and my xsession is like that :
Quote:
idesk&
gdesklets&
fluxbox
so the background is setted after that idesk and gdesklets take their screenshot. I think that the solution is to launch first fluxbox and then the other apps.
I'll do some search and post the solution if it works!
