Have read that gDesklets don't work in SUSE 10, so it might be done for. However, when I ./configure I get the following error:
Quote:
checking for GDESKLETS... configure: error: Package requirements (pygtk-2.0 >= 2 .4.0 pyorbit-2 >= 2.0.1 gnome-python-2.0 >= 2.6.0) were not met.
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
I checked in YAST and my versions are all above those required (2.8.0 -3, 2.0.1-6 and 2.12.0-3, respectively.

Anyway make sure you have python-devel, python-orbit and python-gnome installed before trying to install gdesklets.
Can you post a bit more of the output from ./configure, probably the last 10 (or more lines). I need to see the section where its looking for dependencies.
Thanks for checking it. Here's the bit from where it starts about Python:
Quote:
checking for a Python interpreter with version >= 2.3... python
checking for python... /usr/bin/python
checking for python version... 2.4
checking for python platform... linux2
checking for python script directory... ${prefix}/lib/python2.4/site-packages
checking for python extension module directory... ${exec_prefix}/lib/python2.4/site-packages
checking /usr/include/python2.4/Python.h usability... yes
checking /usr/include/python2.4/Python.h presence... yes
checking for /usr/include/python2.4/Python.h... yes
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for GDESKLETS... configure: error: Package requirements (pygtk-2.0 >= 2.4.0 pyorbit-2 >= 2.0.1 gnome-python-2.0 >= 2.6.0) were not met.
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively you may set the GDESKLETS_CFLAGS and GDESKLETS_LIBS environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for
more details.
Well, you do have python devel installed, but gdesklets has a problem with either python-gnome, python-orbit or python-gtk. Try installing python-gnome-extras if you don't already have that installed, but I am not sure if it will help.
