gconf in Gnome

By the documentation here
http://people.gnome.org/~bmsmith/gco...-terminal.html

Quote:
/schemas/apps/gnome-terminal/keybindings/switch_to_tab_1 string

<Alt>1

Keyboard shortcut key for switch to tab 1. Expressed as a string in the same format used for GTK+ resource files. If you set the option to the special string "disabled", then there will be no keyboard shortcut for this action.

/schemas/apps/gnome-terminal/keybindings/switch_to_tab_2 string

<Alt>2

Keyboard shortcut key for switch to tab 2. Expressed as a string in the same format used for GTK+ resource files. If you set the option to the special string "disabled", then there will be no keyboard shortcut for this action.
I tried to disable the alt + # keys from switching tabs in gnome-terminal because it conflicts with the keybindings in weechat. First, I mistakenly thought the type was bool and issued a

Code:
gconftool-2 -s /schemas/apps/gnome-terminal/keybindings/switch_to_tab_1 --type bool 0
for tabs 1-9. After it not working and reading again realizing the type is supposed to be string, I did

Code:
gconftool-2 -s /schemas/apps/gnome-terminal/keybindings/switch_to_tab_1 -t string "disabled"
However, that failed to work also. It says it's disabled when I check, but it's not.

Code:
gconftool-2 -g /schemas/apps/gnome-terminal/keybindings/switch_to_tab_3
disabled
I have no changed anything for the alt+10 keybinding and it says

Code:
[bull@beastlinux Downloads]$ gconftool-2 -g /schemas/apps/gnome-terminal/keybindings/switch_to_tab_10
Type: string
List Type: *invalid*
Car Type: *invalid*
Cdr Type: *invalid*
Default Value: <Alt>0
Owner: gnome-terminal
Short Desc: Keyboard shortcut to switch to tab 10
Long Desc: Keyboard shortcut key for switch to tab 10. Expressed as a string in the same format used for GTK+ resource files. If you set the option to the special string "disabled", then there will be no keyboard shortcut for this action.
[bull@beastlinux Downloads]$
Notice the Default value is not "enabled" or "disabled". I am unsure what I should be setting the value to disable it. Please help.

Run gnome-terminal, click on edit and keyboard shortcuts. The select the offending shortcut and press backspace.

I did that, and I saw most tabs set to Disabled from using gconftool-2. When I click on a keyboard shortcut, it waits for me to hit another key to set it to that one, so how can I disable it? Thanks.

I'm sorry: I made a silly mistake. When you click on the shortcut you press backspace to remove it.

Thanks. And the gconf tool did work. I think logging out is what it needed for the changes to take effect.
