gcc3.0-3.0.4--2mdk.i586.rpm installed but...

Hello, well, and it asked for gcc3.0-cpp, and libgcc, binutils and libbinutils. I installed them all.
Then I typed:
gcc-3.0.4
and the output:

gcc: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GCC_3.0' not found (required by gcc).

I installed gcc3.0-3.0.1 and it seemed to work, but, as I need it for compiling code in OpenOffice, when I configure the OpenOffice compiler it says it has something wrong with g++ includes .

So I tryed to install gcc3.0-3.0.4, cause itīs a newer version and It may solve my problem, BUT,...

My question is, do you know how to solve the
gcc: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GCC_3.0' not found (required by gcc).
problem?

Any suggestion will be helpful.
Thanks.

Hi,

Try ro run:

# ldd `which gcc`

If libc.so.6 is missing, it will appear there ....

In my distribution (Conectiva) that is part of glibc-base ...

You need a few more files

You need to check and see what files are needed to run the gcc then cd in to the dir and find what ones you are missing in your system then you will need to get them and install them. I had the same issue with my RH 8.0 and I had help from a good friend who is a linux god and we got all the files that I needed and now it is running smooth. I hope this helps!
