GCC Installed No Make Command

I installed the GCC Compiler and I do have the "./configure" command and yet I go to do a "make" I get the bash command not found error. Is there a package that I am missing? I have installed suse 9.1 and I am aware of the fact that it doesn't come with a compiler so I have installed GCC but the make command is not doing its job. I have "googled" this many times and on the forum, if you have any insight in what I can do to solve my issue that would be great, thanks again.

it should be available in whatever package repositories SuSE uses. Otherwise though, you should be able to get it off gnu.org.
