gcc / glibc problem


i was recently trying to build a linux from scratch system and i was configuring glilbc for LFS and somthing went wrong with gcc on my redhat system it says /tools/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.1/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot open output file a.out: Read-only file system
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

how could i fix this

It looks like you're trying to compile inside a directory on a filesystem that is read-only, like a CD-Rom or a mounted disk that is not set up for writing. What directory are you in when you try to compile, and where is the source code located?

ok i changed the properties so they wouldent be read-only and now it says

/tools/lib/libc.so.6: undefined reference to `__libc_stack_end@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
