I have Debian woody with kernel 2.4.8, i've installed gcc (with apt-get) and now i'm trying to compile LCDproc. When i run ./configure i get there errors:

checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -Wall -O3 ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.

See all those 'missing' messages?
See the message about the C compiler not working?
Your probably getting that last message because of all the missing packages.
