Gamepad in 3D games

Ok I have been trying for awhile to get this Nyko airflow gamepad to work. Until I ran across this program a week ago (Qjoypad) I figured it was hopeless.I have all the buttons on the controller working fine my problem is with the 2 axis sticks on the controller. They move my mouse cursor around nice and smooth on the desktop, but as soon as I start up UT2004 or doom3/quake4 and try to use them they point me right at the floor.Anyone no what is going on or how to fix it.
