I'm after a GOOD gallery bit of s/w. I have tried Coppermine... wow to coplicated, for me and my users. Gallery 2 seems to be ok, but it uses Mysql 5 some of my other web apps need Mysql 5.1.

I'd like to add comments, and use that thing I acn't recall, that gives you, camera , exposeriour info, etc.

any recomends

Gallery should work just fine with MySQL 5.1 if that's what you have. Generally, when an application says it needs a specific major version (e.g. 5), the subsequent minor revisions will work as well (e.g. 5.1, 5.2, 5.9.5, etc). I've used Gallery2 in the past, and find it works quite well. It allows or comments, rating of images, shows camera model/make, etc.

It's also free and self-contained (i.e. doesn't litter the file syste), so it's safe to try it out. If it doesn't meet your needs, just drop the database and remove the gallery2 directory from your document root.
