Galeon not working with imwheel
 

I finally got my side mouse buttons working with imwheel but they dont work with Galeon. They do work in Konqueror however perfectly. I just want to have back and forward browser functions from my mouse. The hot keys in both browsers work with ALT LEFT and ALT RIGHT which is in my .imwheelrc as:

"^Galeon"

None, Up, Alt_L|Left
None, Down, Alt_L|Right

".*" #this should make all apps behave with these settings right?
None, Up, Alt_L|Left
None, Down, Alt_L|Right

Any ideas why this doesn't work with Galeon? Or how to make it work? Thanks for any help.

I take it galeon involves gtk2? Anyways, you are overiding what you have for the Galeon setting by the ".*" Try removing the 2nd part.

I commented out the second part of the .imwheelrc and it still did not help. It is wierd becuase when I use the side buttons in Galeon, it just moves the scroll bar up to the top of the page. Either of the two side buttons does this. The wheel works normally however. But in Konqueror, the side buttons work the way I want them to; forward and backward. I think it must be the way Galeon is to be addressed in .imwheelrc but I don't see why it doesn't work with ".*" Any other ideas? Thanks

still fighting this problem. Googled the web to death looking for something that would make some sense. None. The two side buttons just won't function as forward and backward in the browser. They both just move the page up to the top and once the page is all the way up, they don't do anything else. Could my galeon be corupted or something? I am using Ximian desktop 2 if that might be conflicting somehow. Any advice is appreciated.
