I am looking to change the actual skin of the gaim. Will the above link work? I am trying to coordinate everything on the dekstop to have a sleek look.

Gaim is GTK based, so you could change your GTK theme... I think that's the only way to change it's look, aside from the themes.

How would I change a GTK theme so the skin changes on GAIM?

Is there them managers for GTK? Should I change other themes as well? With a new theme on a large scalle will it decrease speed?

There has been no response to this for a while. I was wondering if there is a manager to change the GTK theme.

i've tried this gtk theme changing with litte or no luck. it appears most of gaim is made with it's own icons... i'm very surprised that it hasn't become skinnable yet... i guess we'll have to wait...

as for the emotiocons, they look fricken awesome, but emotiocons are still ghey.

This appears to be the fix, but is undoubtably confusing.

So far, I've overwritten the icons in /usr/share/pixmaps/gaim but that only covers 1/4 of them. I'll play around with this GTK Themer and see what i get. Thanks for the response.

what a surprise...

still working on this.
