help. i can't talk to anyone on my msn list. whenever i try to send them messages they simply get bounced back to me with a "connection error". i have no idea how to fix this. my gtalk contacts work fine
i recently upgraded to pidgin, but the problem was happening all the same when i used gaim
ok so i loaded kopete and it connected and worked fine. checked the differences between the accounts and i think i found the culprit: http method. if you are running into this problem with your gaim edit your msn account > select the advanced tab > deselect "use http method"
I was using pidgin with encryption to IM msn users [both msn and pidgin clients], but that broke for all of us a couple of weeks ago. Is anyone currently using pidgin on linux to connect to msn, and if so, what's your configuration?
I use pidgin for my MSN accounts, although most of my friends are on yahoo or aim. I dont really chat with the MSN client. Just use it for mail notifications.. Maybe I could be having the same problem but since I don't chat with it I would never know?
