Gaim MSN connection problems
When I first installed slack, I was getting the usual problems with gaim about needing SSL, so I downloaded everything needed, and then it would say 'Potocoll not supported' when I tried to connect. I figured this had to do with the SSL problem, but I was at my family's house last week and I plugged my ethernet cable into thier computer so I could check my email when someone goes online (they have dialup). While I was online, I just figured I'd try out gaim, and MSN connected fine! I thought my problem was solved.. then I get back home and plug into my highspeed internet (behind a firewall and hub) and gaim says 'Protocoll not supported' again.
I never had any issuess connecting with RedHat. Anyone have any ideas about what the problem might be? Thank you, LBB |
I'd say:
add this line to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig as root. /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4 Then try running GAIM, if it doesnt work, then try recompiling GAIM. Let me know if this works. |
I had already done this, and I installed the latest versions of mozilla NSS and NSPR, I also recompiled gaim by selecting '-include mozilla-nss' or whatever it was, when I did ./configure. The problem I am having is that I Could connect through a dialup connection, but now I cannot. Is there any chance that my firewall may be blocking this?
Thank you |
Is it only MSN or ICQ, others also ?

Only MSN, AIM connects fine
