Gaim minimize/close help with icon


I have ubuntu and i want to make it so when i minimize/close gaim a little icon goes on the top gnome panel. Like on aim how when u close the buddy list but its hidden on the pannel, please help

Set "Show system tray icon" to "Always"

well i deleted my gnome panel by accident and i made a new one the same way but it doesnt do that

Have you added the Notification Area to the panel?

Right click on the panel, click "Add to Panel..."

Select "Notification Area", click "Add", click "Close"

That should do it.
