gaim crashes on sending message


Hi, i'm using gaim 1.5 on a slackware 10.2 system.
My problem is whenever i send a message using yahoo or google talk login, gaim simply exits displaying this on my terminal:

/tmp/mcop-sharath is accessible owned by user
(sharath is my username) i tried changing the ownership of "mcop-sharath" but didn't helped what is this directory & what could be the problem? plz help

What is the permission of this directory? /tmp is and should be writeable by all users. Applications use it to store temporary files to write and read from when they are running, etc.

Are you possibly running the application as a different user than the one you started X with?

Problem solved, I got this from kde.org mailing lists:

> cd /tmp
> rm -Rf *
> reboot
