Hi people!

I'm having a problem with gaim 1.0 ... and some others... can'T remember exactly..

I am using Slack 10 and installed gaim-1.0.0....tgz via installpkg ... all was normal, but I can't start gaim.

From the Menu it shows loading, and loading and loading and then disappears without any errors ... from cosole I get:

gaim: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkspell.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Have been looking for it on my PC .. didn't find it... I have installed Slack 10.0 on my laptop before, it worked from the start ...

What can I do to get rid of this?

you can find a gtkspell package here: gtkspell

(try runing 'ldconfig' if it doesn't just work.)

linuxpackages.net usually also has the most current release of gaim: gaim

Let me tell you what stupid mistake I made...

I have been looking for this lib at freshmeat and at linuxpackages ... but couldn't find it! You know why? Because I was searching for libgtkspell instead of gtkspell -> 0 matching results found ... grrrr.... I'm so... arrrgghhh

But thanks for your help!!! I don't know how long it would have taken to realize that without your posting :-)
