Gaim and Gtk2 compile problem
Hi!
I have been a Gaim user for a long time, but for various reasons, I want to recompile it. I'm trying to compile version 1.3.1, the same one I already have, on the same computer. I decided to start from scratch... I deleted the gaim-1.3.1 directory in my home folder (that is what was extracted from the .tar.bz2 file) and extracted it again.
Anyway, I went to a terminal, typed su and the root password, then ran ./configure
Here are its last few lines:
checking for pkg-config... (cached) /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for GLIB - version >= 2.0.0... yes (version 2.7.0)
checking for pkg-config... (cached) /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for GTK+ - version >= 2.0.0... no

configure: error:
*** GTK+ 2.0 is required to build Gaim; please make sure you have the GTK+
*** development headers installed. The latest version of GTK+ is

I didn't get that error when I successfully compiled it about 1 month ago. I'm a Suse 9.3 user, so I went to YaST, clicked Install and Remove Software, and check to see if I had gtk2-devel installed. It said I did. I did ./configure again, and got the same error. Then I tried uninstalling gtk2-devel and reinstalling it. Ran ./configure again and still got the same error.
Keep in mind, I've done this before without problems. Whats wrong and how can I fix it?
