gaim and alsa problem

Whenever I type something in gaim dialog box and type enter I get this error message in terminal:

ALSA lib timer_hw.c:269snd_timer_hw_open) extended read is not supported (SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_TREAD)

I guess it is to do with the sound attached to typing enter. Does anyone know how I can get rid of thie error message? Or to fix it?
