g77 is not on Mandriva 2005 LE?

Hey everyone,

I just installed Mandriva 2005 LE and I noticed that is didn't have g77. So I figured I could get it off the DVD and install it. Surprisingly it's not, so I looked to see if I could add some more things to gcc and still no luck. I resorted to downloading and building gcc-4.0.1 from scratch, and when it was all done, still no g77. After the new build is there something I didn't do? I'm still pretty new to using Linux, so I don't know if there's something I not doing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

g77 was replaced by gfortran in gcc 4. If you want g77 for 2005 LE, go over to Easy Urpmi and follow the instructions there on how to configure sources for the package manager. You'll need a main and a contrib source. Once you've done that you'll be able to find gcc-g77 for gcc 3.4 in the package manager.
