fvwm mouse focus - annoying
Hi all,
I'm using FVWM and I have a question about mouse movements. At the moment when my mouse hovers over a window that window automatically gets focused. When I move the mouse again to another window, that other window now gets focused without me having to click on it. Though some people may prefer this behaviour I find it very irritating. I want a window to gain focus only after I click on it. I've spent hours finding a fix so that my fvwm behaves the way gnome, kde and other WMs do. Any ideas guys? |
look in the menu there should be a submenu with some configuration options look for "Click to Focus".

Did those hours include reading the FVWM man pages? ;)

Ah Awesome! thanks guys.
(Btw - I went through the FAQs if that counts? :D ) Now for my next question (yes, also went through the FAQ for this): When I Alt-Tab to another window the mouse pointer jumps to the top-left corner of that new window. How do I get the mouse pointer to stay where it is? |
Seriously, http://www.fvwm.org/documentation/ma...table/fvwm.php is THE best place to look for answers to FVWM questions - it's very comprehensive, so long as you've got a good Search utility ;)
Try: Focus NoWarp This will set the keyboard focus to the window without stealing the mouse, however I'm not sure if it'll switch you to the appropriate screen if the window is on a different virtual screen. Don't have FVWM at work, so I can't check it myself.. |
I tried it, and …
I added
