FreeFileSync install errors! All it's HOWTOs produce errors!

Not a working solution, till the install errors are solved!

Cheers!

it does not require installation. I have just downloaded the tar.gz, unpacked and works. On my debian buster.

All,

Downloaded and been testing some of the FileSync suggestions, but finding them hard to learn and then not getting the desired results.

Need the app to:
  1. Find all files with the same name, (there are 4 drives on one CPR and 4 machines) usually 20+ up to 150,
  2. Delete all 0 bit files,
  3. Choose "/Syncs" as the master directory, using subdirectories as needed,
  4. Merge all remaining files to one file, but marking differences with .git markings,
  5. Delete all none Master files after merge,
  6. Must handle all files, code and documents, handling difference the same.
  7. Copy completed merged files to backups drive/directories, replacing any old backups*,

Notes:
* I can do this step manually or via BASH script if necessary.

Anyway, If you suggested it, help me by telling me which packages use the .git on both code and docs. Will shorten my time going through them. Thanks!

Cheers!

instead of telling us this on that did not work and wanting to solve your issues:
just pick one, only one issue (like freefilesync) and go thru all the steps you made.
I mean you document what did you try, what's happened and we will try to help you to go forward.
But right now we cannot do even a single step, because you had always given up and started to go in a different direction.
So do not list your needs, but how did you try to solve them. http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-...html#beprecise
"Not working" is not an answer, post exactly what did you try and what's happened.

1. dupfinder and similar tools can do that easily.
2. a simple find command can be applied (you can also look for complete solutions on the net)
3. is just meaningless, what is master directory? choose for what?
4. again, what does "remaining" mean?
5. What should be deleted? ..
