FTP timeout
 

Hello,

Users connecting to my server through FTP get disconnected in 300 secs. How can I increase this timeout.

Which FTP server?

I installed redhat Linux 7.2. I am using the FTP that came with it.

Oh man, that's not really gonna help much. I'm gonna guess it's wu-ftp...

Here's some info on doing that in wu:
http://www.wu-ftpd.org/ Check the FAQ. However, you really might wanna figure out which ftp server you are using, if for nothing else, security (from updates and such). Try thumbing through xinetd or inetd in /etc Also, look at your services that are running: ps -aux

I'd be careful about running an FTP server without knowing at the very least, which one it is ;)

ftp 0.17.12.

you may want to check out proftpd I have found it very easy to configure and much more flexible than my workings with wu-ftpd
