Question FTP problem when shutting down Linux

FTP Problem
Dear aroop,
Thank you very much for your solution. I followed the instructions below
and the FTP appears to be working normally, however, when I shutdown Linux
and the shutdown routine displays the name of all the services being shutdown,
I get the message, [FAILED] , when it attempts to shutdown "vsftpd"
Any comments about this would be appreciated ?
Regards,
Serge LeBlanc

I believe the Red Hat Linux has ftp disabled by default. In order to get FTP running, open the file /etc/xinetd.d/gssftp in any text editor. Look for server_args.
Probably it will be server_args = -l -a.

# server_args = -l -a (original one)
server_args = -l (new one)

Remove the "-a" and restart xinetd. FTP should work.
