ftp problem in cpanel / fedora core 2
 

I've created a new account in ftp manager using the same username and password. I tried to connect to ftp using the typcial common method I use to connect for the default ftp account but it gives a 530 login error message

Why is this happening?

I switched to Pro then back to Pure. I restarted FTP. Strange because I know for a fact that the username/password is correct. I tested the same thing on my 2nd server and it works fine there. Both servers same configuration.
