are the virtual machines setup with a bridged or NAT connection?

can you ping from one to the other?

if you do iptables -F on both of you virtual systems can you then make the FTP connection?

what FTP software are you using?

Thanks for the response. I can ping the machines each other. If I am right you are asking the ftp package- its ftp-0.17-33.fc6. I have also done iptables -F but still failed to ftp.
I m using bridged network.
