FTP installation of SuSE 8.2

Sorry to bother you all with a silly question, but how do I do an FTP install of SuSE? I read the directions and I can't seem to get it to work. For instance, is the FTP address supposed to be in numbers? Has anyone done an FTP install of SuSE 8.2 before? Thanks for your help.

First you download the boot.iso and burn it on a CD.
Then you start the computer with CD inserted and enter at the lilo prompt :

install=ftp://ipadresoftheserver/pathontheserver

e.g. install=ftp://193.190.198.19/packages/suse/i386/8.1/linux

(i don't know if this one still works, it's an old one)
