ftp error message


I am getting the following errors:

Error: Disconnected from server
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing
Error: Timeout detected!


when i try to log into ftp with any client like " filezilla" BUT i login fine if i use the internet brwoser "ftp://user@x.x.x.x" that works fine.

anybody came across something like that

You might need to use passive transfers if you're behind a firewall. Read on up using PASV in FileZilla.

Just a guess...
