FTP and Samba

Hi.

Can your FTP share also be your Samba share? When I remove my ftp-users group from the ftp permissions, I can see it with Samba, but when it has the ftp-users group as main group, Samba says it does not have the right permissions.

Thanks.

Are the samba users you are connecting as mapped to valid linux users that are members of that group?

try to create a group called "remote-users" for example. add there your "ftp-users" group and those samba-users which are need access there. and then grant needed permissions on your share to this new group.
