FTP And Netscape questions
More of an information session this one :
I'm running an ftp server, it's quite heavily used, and supports about 7 or 8 users. I'm currently using proftpd and it's doing a good job, however i was wondering, Is there an ftp server out there for kde or even a graphical monitor for proftpd?? I'd want to know at a glance who;s on and what they're downloading, if possible what speed they're at. Second question... Netscape !!! Why is it whenever i launch netscape, or any other decent sized app, it allways has a 10 second delay?? Is it disk access speed?? If i launch another netscape or mozilla it's instant??? This one's just a minor thing, but i'd love to know. Oh yeah, i'm also after an app or gkrellm plugin that will show me system temps , processor speed, and fan speeds, my bios supports the health option, would be nice to see it. Cheers, Ade |
In response to your Netscape/Mozilla question:
Mozilla is a particularly slow app. It needs to load several things and always takes ages to load. I suggest you use Firebird, which is much quicker, and has many great features. |
