Angry frustrations with nppdf.so and mozilla 1.5

Alright, so I installed acrobat 5.0.8 and it's in /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread - it's in my PATH - acrobat reader works fine. I copied nppdf.so into my /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory, and it shows up when I do about:plugins, but when I try to view a pdf in mozilla it loads the page, but nothing shows up and it says "Done" in the status bar. Any insight/suggestions? I'm a little frustrated, after having googled for quite awhile without any result :(

odd, I sometimes have to hit refresh with my browser for a pdf to show up but, I've never had it show up blank. Also, I don't have the plugin installed and everything works. Have you tried removing the plugin and setting up your MIME type for pdf to open acrobat?

Well, my settings before were to open acrobat when mozilla found a pdf - and that worked okay, but I guess I got a bit lazy and wanted it the windows way where pdfs are embedded into the webpage. It's really not a huge problem. I was just wondering what was up with the plugin not working.

Anyways, thanks for the help!
