frontpage 2003 file extentions
 

I am running redhat v9. I am setting up a company web site that we are going to host on the redhat box. I didn't do much research first and got frontpage 2003. When I loaded the pages to the redhat box, I got missing frontpage file extention errors. I searched the web for them but the newest I can find is for frontpage 2002. Does anyone know will the frontpage 2002 file extentions work with frontpage 2003 built web sites?

Im no expert but I know that FP extension in Apache have always been shaky, I have never heard of alot of people using them, Front Page 2003 extensions that would be unsupported I would imagine would have something to do with the version of IIS that comes with Windows Server 2003. I severly doubt they are currently supported but that doesnt mean that they never will...I doubt it is a priority though. However I could still be wrong, but dont hope too much.

Why do you need them? I work for a webhosting company with no microsoft servers. And 90% of customers claiming they need IIS for FP extenstions are using it for either a form or a counter.

Counters are lame and forms can be handled just as well via formail.pl

oh alright, counters can be handled by counter.pl or any of the million or so versions available in google (yes thats right, not the internet, google :D )

If you need more than that, you probably are using asp. In which case All I can suggest is learn php or better yet, python :)

My webhost runs Linux servers and supports Frontpage extensions. It doesn't matter which version of Frontpage someone uses to connect. I'm sure if you get FP Server Extensions set up on your Apache, you'll be able to use FP2003 to publish to those sites.
